With over 6,000 visitors in four days, 1,000 dance couples from over 50 nations and the World Cup in the Latin dances, it is once again succeeded in setting up one of the largest dance sport events in the world. The highlight was undoubtedly the World Cup in the Latin American dances.
Four days of top-level dance sport, a World Cup and a total of 17 competitions – these were the Austrian Open Championships 2017 in the Multiversum in Schwechat. Once again, Hermann Götz, President of the Austrian Dance Sport Association, is able to draw a highly satisfied conclusion: “I am very proud that we have once again mastered the organizational challenges that an event of this size entails with about 100 volunteers to everyone’s satisfaction , Once again, we have more than lived up to the good reputation that the Österreichische TanzSport-Verband enjoys as an organizer and Austria as a venue for international events.
For 2018, great things are once again on the program, and Götz is already looking to the future: “Next year we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Austrian Open. For us, not just a reason to celebrate, but the aspiration to make the 25th Austrian Open even bigger, brighter and more attractive. With the commitment already made by the World Dance Sport Federation to host the World Cup in the standard dances in 2018, a first important step has already been taken. We are looking forward to the 15th to 18th November 2018, when we visit the Multiversum again with the AOC! “
