The Austrian Open Championships
International competitions for all age groups and categories of dance sport will be carried out within the framework of the AOC. World Championships and world ranking list competitions make this event one of the most important and largest dance sport events in Europe.
Vienna has repeatedly been the venue for international championships, most recently in 2019 when the world champions youth latin were determined. This year, the best dance couples in the world will meet again in Vienna: On Saturday, November 21st, 2020 the World Champions Standard will be determined.
World ranking list competitions
Every year the best dancers compete for world ranking points at these competitions worldwide. World ranking points are collected. A sophisticated class system guarantees that only the very best dancers of a given country can participate in these world ranking list competitions.
Contrary to international championships in which only two couples can participate per country, at the world ranking list competitions all top dancers can participate. Therefore, there is an enormous concentration of top notch dancers in Vienna. The Austrian Open Championships are, therefore, the dance highlight of the competition year.
