WDSF Training Course/Congress

Dear Members,

It is the intention of the WDSF DanceSport Academy to provide informative training courses accessible to our license Adjudicators as well as trainers who wish to study the judging criteria of the WDSF JS 2.1 Judging system.

Trainers who wish to formulate training based on the judging criteria can apply to attend this course as an observer through their respective National Federation.

Besides the first of such course in Stuttgart in August 2015, the Academy will also organise 1 course and 1 congress in Vienna, Austria, during the same week of the Austrian Open Championships.

Day 1 and Day 2- Tuesday 17th Nov 2015 13:00pm to 20:00pm & Wednesday 18th Nov 2015 10:00am to 19:00pm
„WDSF JS 2.1 Methods of judging and Assessment Course“:

The course will focus on:

  1. The evolution of WDSF Judging System.
  2. Principles of Absolute Judgement.
  3. Definition and usage of Performance Assessment Standards(PAS).
  4. Definition and usage of Indicative Qualities (IQs).
  5. Practical Assessment.

The course is highly recommended for all judges who wish to be qualified to operate the JS 2.1 system and proficient in the method of assessment in order to be eligible to be selected to judge events using JS 2.1.  This course will also fulfil the main entry requirements for upgrading of WDSF Adjudicators Licenses from B to A.

An evaluation will be conducted at the end of the course in 2 parts:
Part I : Practical Test(watch a video performance and identify the IQs)
Part II : Theory test(Multiple choice) on PAS and IQs taught in the course(reference: WDSF Adjudicator’s Handbook)

All licensed adjudicators who attend this course will also be recorded as having attended a congress.
Course Fee(2 days): CHF 250.

Day 3  – Thursday 19th Nov 2015 1:00pm to 8:00pm
WDSF Adjudicators Congress

This is a regular Adjudicators congress for those who do not wish to be qualified now for the „WDSF JS 2.1 Methods of judging and Assessment“ but would need to attend a regular WDSF Adjudicator’s congress to remain active.
This congress is also for new license applicants who need to attend 2 congresses.

Course Fee : CHF 100
